Sikata Das is the most renowned Odissi dancer, choreographer, teacher ( Indian Classical Dance) of the country and founder president of Nritya Madhuram.
She hails from a leading cultural family of Orissa. Sikata started learning Odissi dance at an early age at Kala Vikash Kendra, Cuttack, the premier and pioneer cultural institution of Orissa. She has the rare privilege of being trained by almost all the eminent Gurus of Odissi-- Padmabibhusan Guru Kelu Charan Mohapatra,Guru Raghunath Dutta and Guru Ramaniranjan Jena
